1967 Ferrari 330 GTC / 250 MM Vignale Spyder Rebody
Overview
Offered here is a singular tribute to one of Ferrari’s most revered early competition cars. Originally completed as a 1967 Ferrari 330 GTC, chassis 10079 was rebodied between 1995 and 2005 in the style of the celebrated 1953 250 MM Vignale Spyder, s/n 0274—blending Lampredi-era aesthetics with Colombo V12 performance. In dramatic, one-off form, this Prancing Horse arrives as an ideal entrant for premier historic road rallies or the centerpiece to grace a finely curated collection.
Front to back, its hand-shaped aircraft-grade aluminum coachwork is finished in Glasurit Dark Red (SR353.50) and Silver (MB 180). A newly fabricated grille houses discreet driving lamps—an evocative period-style modification—while details from the Monza-style fuel cap and riveted fuel tank surround to reproduction taillights, and proper bonnet/trunk closures reinforce the car’s bespoke character. Inside, Tan Connolly leather upholstery is complemented by Brown carpets, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, and 166–250 Series-style instruments, switchgear, and indicator lights. Seat construction and interior trim were completed by Lake County Upholstery, presenting a cockpit appropriate to the era.
Power comes from a 4.0-liter Type 209 Colombo V12, factory rated at 300 horsepower and rebuilt under previous ownership. The original crankshaft has been polished, new cylinder liners installed, and standard pistons and rod bearings fitted; compression tests show a healthy and consistent 150 psi across all twelve cylinders. Enhancements include needle-bearing rocker followers, updated camshafts, six Weber 40 DCN carburetors with velocity stacks, revised oil cooler routing, and MSD electronic ignition. Daytona racing headers by Joe Alphabet, Jet-Hot coated for durability, provide both free-breathing performance and a stirring exhaust note.
Underneath, the chassis retains 330 GTC track width independent coil-over suspension with four-wheel disc brakes and a 5-speed manual transaxle. As part of the rebody, the engine was repositioned approximately 10 inches rearward, and the tail section lengthened to accommodate a fuel cell and spare tire well. Borrani wire wheels and Dunlop Racing tires (dated 2021 and 2023) complete a purposeful stance.
Recent services performed by the selling dealer (2025–2026) include installation of a new fuel cell, dry-ice detailing of the underside and engine bay, carburetor dyno tuning with oil service, compression testing, a four-wheel alignment, clutch slave cylinder service, shift linkage adjustment, and an extensive 40-hour paint correction and detailing. This evocative Ferrari is offered with its ignition key set, a vintage PACTO racing helmet (from the maker of the luggage featured in the Brad Pitt film, ‘F1’), a matching custom leather Ferrari bag, driving goggles/gloves, and a Halon fire extinguisher.
