Overview
This particular 1969 Mercedes-Benz 280 SL has undergone a meticulous restoration performed by Beverly Hills Motors of Houston, Texas, in 2018, ensuring that it not only retains its original charm but also meets the highest standards of reliability and performance. The restoration began with the complete a mechanical overhaul of the engine, (a factory replacement unit installed at some point under previous ownership) were it was completely rebuilt with along with refurbishment of the fuel system, Frigiking cooling system, and all auxiliary components. The transmission was also completely rebuilt with all wear components replaced. The electrical system was carefully inspected, with critical components rewired, and new lighting elements installed. The suspension and braking systems were fully restored, with new shock absorbers, bushings, and brake components, ensuring that the car drives as beautifully as it did when it first left the factory.
In addition to the mechanical restoration, the body and interior of the car were brought back to their original splendor. The bodywork was expertly repaired, addressing any rust or damage, and then repainted in its original factory color.
