Factory wheel covers are properly finished in matching Grey Blue metallic paint, and a set of 205/70R14 BF Goodrich radial tires are mounted. (2014) Mercedes-Benz specialist performed an oil and filter change, brake fluid and coolant flush, replacement of upper and lower radiator hoses, and the installation of a new radiator and fan clutch. In

 

(2022) Extensive servicing including an oil and filter change, new front and rear brake pads, a new master cylinder, new brake bias valve, fresh brake fluid, chassis lubrication, and other minor adjustments.

 

(June 2023) New front/rear brake hoses installed, rear calipers rebuilt. Newer AGM Duralast Platinum battery.

 

 

(October 2023) Installation of new front/rear shocks and subframe mounts.

 

After delivery to the first owner, this Mercedes-Benz is believed to have remained in California as documented by a California 1975 registration card when owned by George Edward Baker, La Jolla, CA. Services recorded in the service booklet in 1975 & 1976 also indicate California service addresses. The car was purchased by the current California owner in 1996. According to the owner’s family, this 280 SE was reported to be an unrestored example. Recognizing the value of a rare unmolested example, the owner, a Mercedes-Benz collector, used the car sparingly, accumulating approximately 72,000 miles in total which are believed to be original.
