1981 Porsche 930 Turbo RUF BTR Conversion

German tuner, Ruf Automobile GmbH (abbreviated as RUF), remains one of the most respected firms dedicated to enhancing the driving experience of Porsche road cars. From signature bodywork and aesthetic components to extensive powertrain upgrades, RUF continues to deliver faster, more powerful 911-based variants purpose-built for the discerning enthusiast. 

Originally a European-market example, this 1981 Porsche 930 Turbo was imported to the United States in 2023. The car received RUF’s BTR conversion package in 1989—including various changes to engine internals, exterior styling, and interior aesthetics. Its turbocharged flat-six engine is enlarged to 3.4L, capable of producing up to 374hp in period. Further mechanical components added by RUF include an upgraded intercooler, exhaust system, steel braided brake lines, and oil cooler. 

Exterior enhancements build upon this Porsche's original Grand Prix White appearance. RUF-designed front and rear bumpers, Porsche 935-style side mirrors, and RUF exterior emblems pair with a factory fixed rear spoiler. A set of RUF / Speedline wheels completes the car's pure 80s street presence. Inside, Recaro leather seats meet a RUF-branded steering wheel, instrument cluster, and floor mats. Power windows, Blaupunkt audio, and an aftermarket shift knob round out tactile cabin comforts.
