Overview

Introduced for the 1978 model year, Porsche announced the 911 SC “Super Carrera” - bridging the previous 911 and Carrera lines as one. Built on the G-series chassis that debuted two years prior, the SC adopted a new 3.0-liter flat-six engine based on the unit utilized by the type-930 911 Turbo, incorporating a stiffer die-cast aluminum crankcase and Bosch K Jetronic electronic fuel injection to provide an elevated power band and torque output compared to the preceding 2.7L flat-six. The 911 SC was available in both fixed hardtop and convertible 'Targa' coupe configurations.

The 1982 Porsche 911 SC Coupe featured here is presented in a Gemini Grey Metallic paint finish, overlaid with a Red and Black interior. Offered by its long-term keeper of over 42 years, it has seen no significant changes or modifications. This Porsche further benefits from an extensive restoration reported to have been completed under current ownership, notably stripping down the car to its bare shell to refurbish components top to bottom, in addition to a respray that refreshes the appearance of the Gemini Grey Metallic exterior. Fuchs-style wheels all around, along with circular front headlights, bring desirable period aesthetics to this Porsche’s appearance.

Inside, red leather upholstery is overlaid on the front and rear seats, dashboard sections, coordinated with red interior carpeting throughout; contrasting with the black leather steering wheel, dashboard midsections, and lower center console. Further amenities onboard include a Blaupunkt radio cassette player, air conditioning, power-operated windows, a heated window, and a sunroof. A 5-speed manual transmission delivers power from the rear-mounted 3.0L naturally-aspirated, air-cooled flat-six engine to the rear wheels.

Seller’s Disclosure, two keys, service records, restoration documentation, toolkit, spare wheel, and various spare/removed parts accompany the sale. Combining the raw performance of an air-cooled era 911 with classic Porsche character and flair, this 911 SC Coupe is guaranteed to become an appreciating classic in years to come.
