Overview

Porsche introduced the 911 Turbo Slant Nose (or "Flachbau") to North America in 1987 under the exclusive M505 option code, inspired by the iconic 935 race car’s unique styling. Characterized by its retractable pop-up headlights, flush steel front fenders, vented rear quarter panels, and boxed rockers, the Slant Nose design gave the 911 Turbo a distinctive look that combined race-inspired aerodynamics with classic 911 appeal. Only 142 US-spec Slant Nose coupes were produced in 1987, making this model a highly coveted and rare piece of Porsche’s legacy. Powered by the robust 3.3-liter turbocharged flat-six engine paired with a four-speed manual transmission, the 1987 Turbo was capable of 282 horsepower, delivering exhilarating performance through its rear-wheel-drive layout.

This particular 1987 Porsche 911 Turbo Slant Nose was completed in May 1987 and originally delivered to a buyer in New Jersey. After one year stateside, it was sent to Ontario, Canada, where it remained for 15 years before returning to the United States in 2013, where it was registered in Washington. In 2014, the car traveled overseas to Kuwait with a new owner, remaining there until 2022, when it was returned to the United States. In 2024, the selling dealer acquired this special Turbo, which currently shows just over 9,200 miles on the odometer. Finished in Guards Red over Champagne leather with red piping, this car features factory options that include heated front seats, a limited-slip differential, a Reno Blaupunkt AM/FM stereo cassette player, and an alarm system. The iconic Slant Nose styling is further complemented by staggered 16-inch Fuchs wheels, known for their black centers and polished lips, adding to its period-correct appeal.

Accompanied by a clean Florida title, a clean Carfax report, build sheet, Porsche Classic Technical Certificate documentation, tool kit, and battery charger, this 911 Turbo Slant Nose stands as a prime example of Porsche’s bespoke craftsmanship during the era. With its low mileage, distinctive factory options, and desirable color combination, this limited-production Porsche is a remarkable find for collectors and enthusiasts alike.
