1988 | 14k-Mile Ferrari Testarossa

The Ferrari Testarossa, introduced in 1984, was a bold departure from Ferrari's traditional design language, conceived by Pininfarina under the direction of designer Leonardo Fioravanti. This model was created to succeed the Berlinetta Boxer and address the need for a more user-friendly supercar that could thrive both on the road and in the competitive marketplace. The Testarossa's wide and low stance was complemented by its distinctive side strakes, which doubled as cooling ducts for the rear-mounted radiators, a necessity due to the car's powerful flat-12 engine. The design was a mix of cutting-edge technology and flamboyant aesthetics, ensuring it would become an icon of the 1980s.

Under the sleek body, the Testarossa was powered by a 4.9-liter naturally aspirated flat-12 engine, delivering 390 horsepower at 6,300 rpm and 361 lb-ft of torque. This engine was paired with a 5-speed manual transmission, propelling the car from 0 to 60 mph in just over 5 seconds and on to a top speed of approximately 180 mph. The Testarossa was not just about raw power; it featured advanced suspension with double wishbones and coil springs at all four corners, ensuring excellent handling and ride comfort. The interior was equally luxurious, offering leather-wrapped seats, a well-appointed dashboard, and ample cabin space for a supercar, making it a desirable and enduring blend of performance and refinement.
 

The 1988 Ferrari Testarossa offered here is finished in Rosso Corsa over a beige leather interior complemented by a brown leather dashboard, center console, and door accents. The car features 16" five-spoke alloy wheels, pop-up headlights, side intake strakes, louvered taillights, quad exhaust outlets, and an asymmetrical cooling duct beneath the left-front fog lamp. The cabin features bolstered bucket seats, a Sony cassette stereo, a gated shifter, and air conditioning. A Sony amplifier is mounted in the front trunk in addition to an integrated battery tender. No showing only 14,250 miles and with a fresh belt service performed in 2022, it is offered with a third-party inspection report (coming soon), a clena Carfax report, and a clean title. 

 

The car was sold new by The Collection of Coral Gables, Florida, and spent the majority of its life in the state. It is currently located with the selling dealer in Jessup, Maryland.
