Overview

1 of 148 examples produced for the North American market, this 1988 Porsche 911 Turbo M505 Slant Nose coupe arrives finished in quintessential Guards Red over a Champagne leather interior. Period luxury amenities fill out the air-conditioned cabin including a power sunroof and seat adjustments with driver lumbar support. Aside from the addition of a Porsche Classic Communication Management (PCCM) head unit, this Porsche remains highly original in keeping with its window sticker and a Porsche Classic Technical Certificate. A clean CarFax report and detailed service records showcase dealer maintenance in Florida. Highlights from the most recent service reported in August 2023 include R134a air conditioning service and shifter bushing replacement.
.
Less than 100 miles have been accumulated on this unique Porsche since acquisition by its current caretaker approximately a year and a half ago, with an odometer reading under 9,000 miles at the time of this listing. The Porsche Classic Technical Certificate issued in 2022 confirms the current engine and transmission units match its original factory specification. Outside, staggered Fuchs wheels mounted over cross-drilled brakes wear Pirelli P Zero Rosso tires. Stated to present in remarkable condition, this perennial collector facorite presents a rare opportunity to acquire one of very few 930-generation 911 Turbo coupes equipped with sought-after M505 factory upgrades.
.
At its launch in 1975, Porsche’s first attempt at a 911 Turbo, known internally as the 930, quickly established itself as a global performance benchmark, garnering a reputation as a ‘widowmaker’ even among the most seasoned of drivers. Widened bodywork with large rear deck spoiler, turbocharged aircooled flat-six power, and a manual gearbox, elevated the 911 Coupe to new heights. In the 1980s, Porsche’s nascent ‘Exclusiv Manufaktur’ program rose to accommodate customer modifications inspired by the 911 Turbo’s Type 935 racing sibling in stride with displacement raised to 3.3-litres. The result was an exclusive styling package resembling the Group 5 racer—notably with louvered steel front fenders made flush with the front hood, retractable headlamps, and vented rear quarter panels filled by wider wheels/tires.
