1994 | 15k-Mile Porsche 911 Speedster

The Porsche 911 Speedster, a limited-production gem, was developed as a tribute to the original 356 Speedster, an homage to the essence of Porsche's open-top driving experience. Designed under the leadership of Porsche's Chief Engineer Ulrich Bez and styled by the renowned Harm Lagaay, the 964-generation Speedster was a purist's dream, emphasizing simplicity and lightweight performance. The Speedster was built on the Carrera 2 platform, featuring a lower, more raked windshield, a manually operated soft top, and a distinctive double-bubble rear tonneau cover that set it apart from the standard 911 models. With a total production run of just 936 units worldwide and 427 for the US market, the Speedster is a true collector's item.

Under the rear deck lid, the Speedster housed a naturally aspirated 3.6-liter flat-six engine, delivering 247 horsepower and 228 lb-ft of torque, paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. The vehicle's suspension was tuned for a more spirited driving experience, and it retained the Carrera 2's rear-wheel-drive layout, ensuring a classic 911 handling feel. The interior was minimalist, with lightweight bucket seats and the absence of rear seats, focusing on reducing weight to improve the driving experience. Porsche offered the Speedster with limited factory options, making each model highly sought after among enthusiasts and collectors alike.

 

The 1994 Porsche 911 Speedster offered here is finished in Grand Prix White and boasts fewer than 15k miles on the clock. The car is attractively optioned with white-painted staggered-width 17" Cup wheels, a white fiberglass tonneau, and a black soft top, while an optional limited-slip differential improved handling. The cabin features fixed-back Carrera RS bucket seats trimmed in black leather with gray inserts housed inside white shells in addition to a white shifter, hand brake handle, and doors pulls.  Amenities include cruise control, a Porsche CR-1 stereo, automatic climate control, an analog clock, power windows, and black floor mats with red Porsche lettering.
