Overview

For model year 1989, Ferrari set sights on the decade to come. A new model—dubbed 348—bridged the outgoing 328's allure with Teutonic styling and modernized mechanics. More than solely a bump in displacement, a stiffened chassis sat beneath the Testarossa-finned midsection and cockpit roomier over its predecessor. The 348 marked the end of an era requiring Ferrari drivers' three-pedal attention, available exclusively with a gated five-speed manual transaxle.
.
Pininfarina design delivered Ferrari's new top seller in Berlinetta, GTS, and Spider variants. Spider configuration provided buyers a performance alternative to the 2+2 Mondial, and developed a recipe for open-top two-seaters the manufacturer would continue into the forthcoming 355. In a dramatic late-run refresh, 1994's 3.4L eight-cylinder power plant arrived longitudinally mounted behind passengers. Improved weight distribution, suspension geometry, and gearing alongside an additional 20 horsepower brought latter examples head and shoulders above early production cars.
This 1994 Ferrari 348 Spider presents in triple Nero with black exterior, leather, and carpets. Iconic period equipment includes 3 spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel, aluminum pedals, and gated shifter. Analog controls and Veglia Borletti gauges round out the cabin replete with of-the-era charm. The manual convertible top is said to operate freely. 17-inch chrome wheels wear decade-old 225/45 front and 264/40 rear Bridgestone Potenza tires. Mechanical and cosmetic wear including past paintwork is further described below under Known Shortcomings. With an odometer reading of just 24,706 miles, this Spider is sold with both a clean Carfax report and Pennsylvania Title. Ferrari Owner's manual and service books, partial tool kit, and tire inflation kit accompany the sale.
