Overview
Eligible for IMSA Historic Sportscar Racing, this 1997 Ferrari 550 GTS/GT1 Race Car arrives ready for Historic Sebring, Daytona, American Le Mans (ALMS) Classic Series, and more. This example, chassis number 107301, was built by ENRO Competition of Italy in 2016 and was recently displayed at the 2024 Velocity Invitational in Sonoma, California. Its Green livery flaunts widened lightweight fiberglass bodywork further completed by a custom center lock wheel conversion, upgraded sway bars, air jacks, and fire suppression system. A high-downforce rear wing plus carbon fiber dash, headlight buckets, and engine belt covers enhance its track-ready spec.

The vehicle was last entered in the 2022 & 2023 Minardi Days Historics at Imola and shows an odometer reading of just over 43k km (~27k mi). Now sold with a clean title, this race car is accompanied by a Seller’s Disclosure detailing recent maintenance. Thorough service work and reconditioning completed by Arizona-based Ferrari specialists Italian Design & Racing (IDR) ensures out-of-the-box competition condition. An original artwork by noted Motorsport artist Samantha Zimmermann featuring the 550 GTS—painted onsite at the 2024 Velocity Invitational—will be included in the auction alongside the vehicle.

Never campaigned by the factory, Ferrari’s 550 Maranello presented a platform ripe for privateer development. The car’s rear-wheel-drive layout centered around a 5.5L 48-valve V12 producing 478hp and 419lb-ft of torque. Solely configured with a six-speed manual gearbox, the aluminum-bodied 550 further benefited from double wishbone suspension and limited-slip grip. Despite comfortable packaging as a sporting grand-tourer, the car’s 7,000rpm rev-range and 199mph top speed suggested closed course capability by design.
