Spiritual successor to the 348, Ferrari's F355 offered from model years 1995-1999 revived the manufacturer's appeal en masse. Throughout production of Berlinetta, Spider, and GTS body styles, either a gated six-speed manual transmission or Ferrari's first deployment of the now-staple F1 paddle-shifted automated manual could be specified. Exiting the 1980s, choice in both exterior and interior configured colors extended well beyond Rosso Corsa over Nero. Soft exterior shades and natural leather interiors again entered the mainstream alongside optional performance equipment in spades. In any assembly, the model's complex exhaust note and Pininfarina form served to elevate the F355 to an ethereal realm.
