2001 | BMW Z8
Overview
Built from 1999 to 2003, the BMW Z8 was a modern interpretation of the classic BMW 507 sports car from the 1950s. Featuring a body heavily derived from the Z07 concept car penned by Henrik Fisker, the Z8 retained many design cues from the concept, including the long hood, short deck, and wide kidney grilles. Power came from a 4.9L V8 taken from the E39-generation BMW M5, paired with a manual transmission sending power to the rear wheels via a limited-slip differential. The inclusion of a lightweight aluminum spaceframe and perfect 50:50 weight distribution contributed to elevated performance factors exhibited by this BMW roadster. Limited in numbers, with reportedly just 5,703 produced worldwide, the Z8 has gained appreciation among BMW enthusiasts and modern classic car appreciators, thanks to its unique combination of the German brand’s past with modern-day performance and luxury. Hollywood provenance also formed the Z8’s legacy, thanks to its appearance in the James Bond film ‘The World is Not Enough’.
This 2001 BMW Z8 Roadster features a Titanic Silver Metallic finished body with a Black interior, accompanied by a color-coordinated softop convertible roof and fixed hardtop. Further exterior highlights include the Z8’s signature Xenon headlights with washer jets, neon turn signals and brake lights, and 18” alloy wheels. Interior amenities include heated sport leather seats, a powered telescopic leather steering wheel, alloy-leather trimmed shift knob, a 6-disc CD changer, premium Harman/Kardon audio system, and keyless entry. This Z8 further benefits from a recent comprehensive service that involved the replacement of multiple powertrain components, as well as a routine oil change and brake fluid service, keeping this BMW in functioning order.
Displaying under 12,000 miles on the odometer, no significant changes or modifications to this example are also reported by the selling dealer. Two keys, a window sticker, owners literature, tool kit, first aid kit, a hardtop roof, and rear wind deflector accompany the sale of this collectible 90s BMW roadster.
