2006 | Ed Bolian's RUF Rt12 S

VINwiki founder and prominent YouTuber Ed Bolian spotted this 2006 RUF Rt12 S completely by chance on an unplanned stop during a Florida group drive. An aspirational vehicle for Bolian, his eventual purchase took many months to secure. This particular car's storied past later revealed manufacturer-performed upgrades and beyond-remarkable rarity for a vehicle produced after the millennium.

Nearly 700 horsepower and a 228mph top speed make the RUF Rt12 S a bucket list buy for the discerning enthusiast. This example began life as a 2006 Rt12, with a sticker price of €230,000 and featured a memorable spec from new. GT Silver over Cocoa brown, the vehicle enjoyed in-house conversion to Rt12 "S" configuration by RUF just three years later. A la cart, the Rt12 S engine upgrade and aero kit totaled €32,000 when installed in 2009. Though retaining its taller 6th gear, hydraulic suspension with nose lift, integrated roll cage, PCM, BOSE audio, and sport seats, a total repaint was also performed—resulting in the car's current matte black presentation at a further cost of €17,000.

The highlight of this RUF's value proposition is full mechanical sorting under later ownership. RUF expert and specialist Charlie Lacy of Innovative Autosports in Carrollton, Texas rehabbed the vehicle's mechanical condition with no expense spared. Work performed included engine rebuild, replacement of water pump, clutch, rear main seal, brake lines, and calipers. Full re-sealing of engine and hydraulic suspension systems, wheel refinishing, and new tires rounded out hardware updates. RUF pepita inserts were installed in the vehicle's Recaro buckets and a whole car PPF installed. With an odometer reading of 31,349 miles, this Rt12 S is sold with a clean Virginia Title and AutoCheck report.

This vehicle's several lifetimes include Nürburgring testing when new by EVO magazine, subsequent customer delivery to Miami, Florida, and a return to its original manufacturer for "S" spec updates.
