On the eve of model year 2000, Mercedes-Benz offered a glimpse into design possibilities of the coming millennium inspired by the heights of its 20th-century success. The Vision SLR (1999) concept defined a moment in the automobile's development at a space-age intersection of aspirational luxury and high performance looking decades into the future.

Seeing production by 2003, Mercedes-Benz partnered with none other than McLaren Automotive to produce the vehicle with great care at scale. Built in Woking, England, the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren showcased the first carbon fiber monocoque construction and carbon ceramic brakes ever configured in a mass-produced road car. With 617 horsepower, its supercharged 5.4L V8 propelled the rakish coupe to a top speed of 207mph.

Finished in Crystal Digenite Blue over Orion Grey, this 2006 Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren showcases the supercar in timeless configuration. A full seven years ahead of the manufacturer's AMG Black Series debut, this early example's gullwing doors and endless clamshell hood reveal a combination of comfort and performance unparalleled when new. Its supercharged M155 V8 drives rear wheels via five-speed automatic transmission w/selectable manual shifting while massive 14-inch carbon ceramic rotors front and rear slow inertia of 19-inch H.R.E. wheels. One of just a few hundred SLRs produced for model year 2006, this Mercedes-Benz has remained with one owner since new and now shows a remarkably low odometer reading of just 1,400 miles.
