A perennial leader in high-performance technology and unparallelled luxury, Mercedes-Benz’s new debuts remain a celebrated occasion to the present day. Without exception, its Vision SLR (1999) concept looked decades into the future while offering a tangible glimpse at the manufacturer’s early 2000’s aspirations. Built in partnership with McLaren Automotive in Woking, England, the Vision SLR soon saw production as the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren by model year 2003.

The new car arrived far beyond expectations of an aspirational styling exercise. Its carbon fiber monocoque construction and carbon ceramic brakes saw implementation as the first ever configured in a mass-produced road car. With 617 horsepower, its supercharged M155 5.4L V8 propelled the rakish coupe to a top speed of 207mph. Highly rigid and lightweight construction paired seamlessly with Roadster configuration, unveiled in 2007 and offered through the end of production two years following.

Finished in Black over Black leather, this 2008 Mercedes-Benz SLR Roadster checks every box. Butterfly doors, a Black power-convertible top, and an endless clamshell hood open to reveal a thrilling combination of comfort and performance. Inside, leather-clad carbon bucket seating faces a 220mph speedometer and ornate center console controls. AMG SpeedShift R gearing w/selectable manual shifting funnels power to staggered aftermarket wheels mounted over carbon ceramic rotors, offering precision driver inputs and supreme stopping power. One of just 106 SLRs produced for model year 2008, this Mercedes-Benz now shows fewer than 9k miles.
