The Mercedes-Benz 300SL defined a new benchmark in automotive excellence beginning in 1954. Championed by famed importer Max Hoffman as a requisite sports-purpose offering, the new coupe arrived flaunting exotic “Gullwing” doors, over 200hp, and race-proven reliability. Coupe production extended through model year 1957, cementing the original 300SL as a rarified icon.
