2016 | Porsche 911 GT3 RS
Overview
Porsche’s GT-badged offerings have remained at the forefront of racing technology while continuing a motorsport lineage steeped with heritage. Among these storied variants, the GT3 occupied a unique position at the height of the 911 range. Since 2003, the addition of RennSport (RS) trim further pushed the envelope, clarifying the manufacturer’s intent to produce the ultimate road-legal track car sans boost. A decade in, the GT3 RS received a game-changing bump in displacement. Truly special and in sync with the high merits of its ethereal chassis tuning, a new 4.0L powerplant delivered well over 100hp per liter.
This 2016 Porsche 911 GT3 RS shows the model at a high point of optioning, capability, and enthusiast ownership, presented here in Silver over Black. Premium extras make this top contender approachable whether at the track or en route with extended leather and Alcantara, aluminum trim, and Sound Package Plus. A front axle lift system adds in-town convenience, taking the pressure out of street or garage parking. Showing just 7,857 miles, this example benefits from a clean title, Carfax report, and Seller’s Disclosure.
Highlights of this 991.1 generation GT3 extend to dramatic carbon bodywork, magnesium roof, and a wider footprint over the standard GT3. 7-speed PDK shifting meets 500hp, enabling a 3-second 0-60 sprint. Its extended-range fuel tank, Sport Chrono Package, and fire extinguisher count among a host of performance equipment. Reversible track-focused modifications include a GMG bolt-in roll cage, 6-point Schroth harnesses for each of the seats, steel brake pads/rotors, and steel racing brake lines. Spare or removed components are included in the sale, making this example a prime candidate for either street or sports-purpose use.

Known Shortcomings
.
- The car is showing a “Check front dipped headlight” error code.
- Exposed areas have Paint Protection Film (PPF). Small nick in clear PPF on hood, does not appear to have reach underlying paint. Some minor rubber marks on side sill PPF ahead of rear wheels but no damage to paint underneath.
- Recall #APA0 for DME control and transmission control units is noted by the Carfax report. Remedy for this recall is available free of charge at any authorized Porsche dealer
- According to the seller, the Carfax event “Failed Emissions Inspection” on 4/04/23, was solely due to the car having racing slicks mounted instead of DOT street legal tires at the time of the inspection. Texas requires street legal tires for a car to pass the annual inspection. It had nothing to do with deficiencies in the emissions system of the car.
