Overview

The 2017 Chevrolet Camaro Yenko represents a significant chapter in the evolution of American muscle cars, blending modern engineering with a storied legacy. Developed by Specialty Vehicle Engineering (SVE), this limited-edition model pays homage to the original Yenko Camaros of the late 1960s, famously modified by Don Yenko. The 2017 Yenko Camaro, based on the Camaro SS, underwent substantial modifications to enhance its performance and aesthetics. The most notable upgrade was the engine, where SVE replaced the stock 6.2-liter LT1 V8 with a custom-built 6.8-liter (416 cubic inch) LT1 engine, augmented with a supercharger. This powerhouse delivered an astonishing 800 horsepower, a significant jump from the base model's 455 horsepower. Other mechanical enhancements included upgraded fuel injectors, a larger throttle body, and a custom stainless steel exhaust system, which improved performance and gave the car a distinct, aggressive exhaust note.

Aesthetically, the 2017 Yenko Camaro stood apart with unique styling cues that paid tribute to its heritage. It featured a redesigned hood with a scoop, reminiscent of the classic Yenko models, and distinctive Yenko striping and badging throughout the body. The car was available in several color options, each with a coordinated stripe package, enhancing its visual appeal. Inside, the Yenko Camaro boasted custom leather seating with embroidered Yenko logos, a numbered plaque indicating its limited-edition status, and various other bespoke touches. These design elements combined to create a vehicle that was a powerhouse on the road and a visually striking tribute to the iconic Yenko name. Limited to just 50 units, the 2017 Yenko Camaro was a collector's item, embodying modern performance and classic muscle car ethos.

The example offered here is #26 out of 50 total built for the 50th-anniversary edition and features the complete package of Yenko upgrades in addition to a host of further desirable options. Most notable of these options is the 1LE Track Package, which significantly improves handling through the FE4 suspension system featuring Magnetic Ride Control, or specific tuning for the Magnetic Ride dampers, springs, and stabilizer bars. The 6.8-liter Yenko-modified engine features a forged 4340 steel crankshaft, H-beam connecting rods, forged aluminum pistons, CNC-ported and polished LT1 cylinder heads, and an LT4 fuel system and injectors. Outside, the car features a body-color carbon-fiber hood with a functional scoop, Yenko side stripe graphics, 5-spoke 20-inch machined lip wheels with SYC center caps, and Goodyear Eagle F1 performance tires. The cabin features a pair of RECARO leather and suede power bucket seats, SYC floor mats, and a full array of power accessories. With fewer than 400 miles on the odometer, an impeccable maintenance history, and only two caring owners, this Yenko Camaro represents the best of modern American muscle. It is now offered with a clean Carfax report, a third-party inspection report, and a clean title.
