The Mercedes-Benz G-wagen has, ever since its inception in 1979, become a favorite amongst car enthusiasts thanks to its rugged charm and increasingly bold iterations, including the AMG G63 and G65 models, which quickly overtook the standard G-class in sales. 2017 saw the arrival of an even more aggressive iteration, the G550 4x4², towering almost a foot taller than the original and characterized by its enormous 17.2 inches of ground clearance, facilitated by a set of portal axles. Despite being less suited to narrow trails due to its heightened and broadened body, the vehicle has demonstrated remarkable off-road capabilities, easily surmounting almost any ground obstacle. For all of its off-road capability, the truck found itself at home on the asphalt as well, boasting 416 horsepower and 450 lb-ft of torque generated by a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8, reaching 60 mph in 6.1 seconds, just a fraction slower than the standard G550 despite its 753 pounds heavier weight. 

 

This 2017 Mercedes-Benz G550 4x4² was acquired by the seller in 2022 and is highly optioned, featuring the Exterior Stainless Steel, Exclusive, and Designo Packages along with a Harman Kardon Logic 7 surround sound system, heated front and rear seats, a sport exhaust system, and 22" alloy wheels. These enhancements elevate the truck above its already luxurious base and provide the driver with the utmost comfort, whether traversing Death Valley or running to the grocery store. According to the seller, a Ghost Wrap matte black vehicle wrap has been installed on exterior portions of the truck, protecting the factory black paint and enhancing the Mercedes' classic styling. The tubular rear bumper and side steps round out the Exterior Stainless Steel package, and inside the truck, the front bucket seats and rear bench are trimmed in exclusive Designo black leather.
