Aston Martin's Vanquish—first released for model year 2001, packaged power and presence in harmony. The Ian Callum-designed first-generation (2001-2007) made waves with sculptural aesthetics and proven V12 motivation. By 2004, its 460 horsepower grew to 520 in S trim, touting a top speed of 200mph. Blurring lines between sports and grand touring segments, the Vanquish drew wide acclaim as a highlight under the manufacturer's Ford ownership. 

Following David Richards' 2007 acquisition of the company, Aston Martin reintroduced the Vanquish as a wholly modern supercar in 2012. Key attributes included carbon fiber body construction—configurable in either two seat or two-plus-two, a 565 horsepower V12, and flagship positioning in the model lineup. The topless Vanquish Volante arrived a year later, while updates to power and aerodynamics comprised a 2014 facelift to both the coupe and convertible.
