In the late 1990s, Porsche's Boxster netted new fans of mid-engine driving dynamics with virtuous weight balance, rear-wheel-drive, and top down-only packaging. Drivers seeking the Boxster's merits sans rain and sun had their day a decade later with introduction of the Cayman in 2006. Powered by a 245 horsepower naturally aspirated flat-six, the closed-roof Boxster counterpart relied on crisp handling and styling charisma to charm buyers.
