2021 | 5k-Mile Porsche 911 Turbo S
Overview
Porsche's 992 generation brought unparalleled power and control across the 911 range. Without exception, an all-new Turbo S made good on the storied German marque's supercar performance benchmark. This iteration featured an enhanced 3.7-liter twin-turbocharged flat-six engine, producing 640 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque for an eye-watering 2.6 second 0-60 acceleration according to Porsche—though many reputable testers have quoted times as fast as 2.2 seconds. These feats represented a substantial increase from its predecessors, underlining the model's focus on power output. Engineers also integrated an improved cooling system with larger intercoolers and a redesigned air intake layout, ensuring optimal engine performance under strenuous conditions. Aerodynamic advancements were evident in the active front spoiler and larger rear wing, which automatically adjusted to driving conditions, balancing downforce and efficiency.

On the technical front, the 2021 911 Turbo S showcased a refined chassis and suspension system designed to enhance handling and stability at high speeds. The model was equipped with Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), lowering the suspension by 10 millimeters and dynamically adjusting the damping force for each wheel. Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC) minimized body roll during cornering, and rear-axle steering improved agility and turning radius. The braking system was upgraded with larger carbon-ceramic brakes, providing exceptional stopping power and reduced fade. Inside the cabin, the Turbo S was furnished with a 10.9-inch Porsche Communication Management (PCM) touchscreen and a 12-speaker Burmester High End Surround Sound system, offering advanced connectivity and audio quality. Moreover, safety and driver assistance features, including Lane Keep Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, and Night Vision Assist, came standard.
