Overview

This 2021 Ford GT was specially configured by the selling dealer as a tribute to Ford’s original GT40 Prototype GT/105—also owned by the organization. With the original’s significant motorsport provenance as one of the three remaining prototypes completed in 1964, the opportunity to equip a modern Ford GT in a corresponding livery and serial number (VIN ending in 200105) offers an irreplicable one-of-one specification. Just 56 miles are indicated by the odometer, reflecting showroom-new condition as described by the selling dealer. Further, this example’s production predates Ford’s limited run of 2022 Heritage Edition Ford GT models, made available to the public one year following. Future-proof rarity backed by full documentation elevates this car’s desirability in the collector arena.
.
Designed by the teams at Multimatic and Ford, this GT presents as the only example to wear a Frozen White base, dark blue painted hood, and full-length center stripe paying homage to the original GT/105, added at a cost of $30k CAD atop its original MSRP. As with all second-generation (2017+) Ford GT’s, power comes from a 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6 EcoBoost engine generating 647 horsepower and 550 ft/lbs of torque dispatched to the rear wheels by a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transaxle. Additional options include six-point harness anchors, Blue painted brake calipers, Satin Silver painted wheels, titanium lug nuts and a fitted indoor car cover. Two keys, owner’s manuals, a window sticker, build sheet, GT battery tender, air compressor, front license plate bracket, and fitted indoor car cover accompany the sale.
.
GT/105 was completed in early 1964 for use as a test, development and race car for the Factory, and remains in its original configuration to the present day. It was the first GT40 to ever run the howling 289ci Ford V8 (an engine it had from birth) and the first GT40 to ever feature a ZF gearbox. It was the 1965 Le Mans Test car, and competed at Reims, Sebring, and Daytona as a works car. During its life as a factory racer, it would be driven by Le Mans winners, Formula 1 champions, and greats including: Richard Attwood, Bruce McLaren, Jean-Louis Schlesser, Phil Hill, John Horsman, Sir John Whitmore, Frank Gardner, Roy Salvadori, Bob Bondurant, Jochen Neerpasch, Giancarlo Baghetti, Maurice Trintignant, Peter Sutcliffe, Bob Grossman, Innes Ireland and Umberto Maglioli.
.
When Ford announced the latest generation of the Multimatic-built Ford GT, thousands of people applied for the opportunity to purchase the Halo supercar. Unprecedented demand combined with Le Mans-inspired technology and serious track capability yielded a truly special final product with stark allocation availability. This GT’s true ties the car that started it all cements its perennial asset-class status and significance.
