2022 | Porsche 911 Targa 4 GTS Edition 50 Years Porsche Design

To commemorate the 50th anniversary of Porsche Design, a high-end design studio founded by Ferdinand Alexander Porsche, a signature 911 was released as the Targa 4 GTS Edition 50 Years Porsche Design. The project was led by the Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur team, who aimed to blend classic design elements with modern technology. The concept revolved around paying homage to the timeless style of the 1972 Porsche 911 Targa while integrating contemporary performance and luxury features. This special edition featured unique design cues that echoed the original 911 Targa and was aimed at enthusiasts who appreciate both heritage and innovation.

Specifications for the model included a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged flat-six engine, producing 443 horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque. This powertrain was mated to either an 8-speed PDK transmission or a much-desired 7-speed manual, enabling the car to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.4 seconds. The exterior boasted a distinctive black and platinum color scheme, with commemorative badges and exclusive 20/21-inch wheels. Inside, the cabin featured a blend of black leather and Sport-Tex fabric, complemented by contrasting stitching and a numbered plaque. Advanced technology, such as Porsche Communication Management (PCM) and a premium Burmester surround sound system, ensured a luxurious driving experience.
