In 1999, Cadillac's Escalade debuted the all-American aspirational SUV. The truck's staying power soon yielded both a gold rush business case and platform to showcase the best of General Motors' innovations. While the Escalade returned Cadillac to its former laurels, the brand's performance V-Series made headway toward establishing parallel sports car-credibility beginning with the CTS-V in 2004. Continued successes in their respective realms reached a boiling point for model year 2023— with the Escalade at long last receiving its own V-series variant.
