2023 | Porsche 911 Sport Classic
Overview
In 2010, the first 911 Sport Classic (997) offered a glimpse at Porsche's low-production ambitions to come. The new car's naturally aspirated 3.8L flat-six, manual transmission, wide rear fenders, and spartan comfort spec built a business case for more of less with only 250 units produced—none destined for US shores. To much fanfare, the Sport Classic returned for 2022 with a nod to another page from Porsche's past.
.
The 992-generation 911 Sport Classic offered enthusiasts seeking a modern take on Porsche Turbos (1975 to 1998) the best rear-engine road car of its kind. No longer reserved to a back catalog of the manufacturer's air-cooled greats—or more recently the track-focused GT2—its rear-wheel drive was paired with twin-turbocharging, a 7-speed manual transmission, and a wide-body footprint. Despite its forbearers' reputation at the limit, the new Sport Classic's adaptive suspension and ceramic composite brakes as standard ensured first-rate performance and control. Warm interior tones and model specific Heritage Design niceties hinted at the car's unique positioning as a feedback machine, gratifying drivers with more than spreadsheet go-fast appeal. Still boasting 543 horsepower and a 195mph top speed, just 1,250 were built.

Now offered with just 262 miles, this 2023 Porsche 911 Sport Classic summits on its mission as the mountaintop of driver's cars. Numbered 0674/1250, this example's sublime pairing of Sport Grey Metallic over the Heritage Design Pepita houndstooth and Classic Cognac leather takes no detail for granted. Optional Burmester High-End Surround Sound System, leather door-sill guards, aluminum pedal trim, and ambient lighting—plus Smoking and Storage Package extras, add comfort and utility. Power Steering Plus, Night Vision Assist, LCA/LKA driver aids, and Surround View complete tech and convenience amenities. Around the vehicle, model-specific badging, bodywork, and staggered five-spoke wheels elevate appearance in homage to Porsche's past homologation specials. Beneath its #77 livery, this 911's true allure lies in the boosted heartbeat of its flat-six power plant and 7-speed manual shifting. Both a clean title and Carfax report accompany the sale of this remarkable Porsche.
