Entering its sixth generation, BMW’s 2021 M3 arrived refreshed and ready to lead the four-door performance car market segment. In a fast follow, 503hp Competition trim arrived a year later. Carrying BMW’s first deployment of all-wheel drive in the M3 range, a halo car’s groundwork lay complete for 2024’s debut of the M3 CS. Lightweight construction, big power, and tenacious grip pushed the M sedan into a new echelon of performance. Increased boost pressure added 40hp alongside chassis refinements including stiffer engine mounts. Using launch control, its 8-speed automatic shifting delivered 0-60 acceleration in under 3 seconds to a top speed of nearly 190mph. Ergonomic appointments and carbon fiber at every glance centered the car’s intentions on the driver’s seat.
