Launched in 1996, the 993-generation Porsche 911 Turbo aimed to elevate the air-cooled sports car to further performance potential. This was the first 911 Turbo to feature all-wheel drive, a system derived from the flagship Porsche 959, enabling greater stability and handling compared to earlier rear-wheel drive Turbo models. Porsche’s engineers also focused on aerodynamic improvements, resulting in a sleeker body with an integrated rear wing, a wider stance, and improved cooling functions to accommodate the new drivetrain.

For model year 1996, the 993 Turbo was powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.6-liter flat-six engine. This powerplant was a significant advancement over previous turbocharged flat-six units featured in preceding 911 Turbos—combining the raw character of an air-cooled engine with an upgraded engine management system.  The 993 Turbo’s performance capabilities were further enhanced by a six-speed manual transmission, larger brakes, and an advanced suspension setup. With a reported 0 to 60 mph time within 4.4 seconds and a top speed of up to 180 mph, the 993 Turbo was one of the fastest automobiles of its time. In combination, its aesthetic appeal and sporting prowess, made the 993 Turbo highly accoladed among Porsche enthusiasts worldwide.

This 1996 Porsche 911 Turbo was first registered under corporate ownership in Illinois from 1996 to 2017, before the vehicle’s location was updated to Wyoming from 2018 onwards. From 2021 to present day, it was transferred to personal ownership in Wyoming. The seller states they have added roughly 30,000 miles in total. This vehicle is currently located with the seller in Wilson, Wyoming.
