Colleen is a seasoned auction executive with over a decade in online and brick and mortar experience. Prior to joining SOMO, she ran the global online fine art marketplace at Artnet and prior to that, she held several leadership roles at Christie's. Colleen is also a strategic advisor to Legacy Overland, a high end restoration shop with outfits in Connecticut and Portugal.
Mark Rankin
Chief Technology Officer
Mark is a car enthusiast with a strong background in entrepreneurship and technology in the automotive space. With multiple successful exits and a long line of automotive technology products, there's a good chance you have used one of his products while considering, purchasing or selling a vehicle. Mark brings his extensive product and technology brackground as well as his knowledge of exotic cars to SOMO, a venture he's been passionate about and a part of since its inception.
Chris Griggs
Director of Sales
Chris is a lifelong car enthusiast originally from the Pacific Northwest. An entrepreneur by nature, Chris's career has spanned automotive restoration & refinishing, sales, and more. He has spent nearly two decades professionally in the collector car world, owning and operating a boutique dealership and brokerage service. His auction career started at Barrett-Jackson, where he helped pioneer programs for the consignment and showroom divisions. He later went on to help launch a successful online automotive auction platform that was acquired less than a year later. Chris currently resides in Scottsdale, AZ, with his wife and daughter in his spare time, he enjoys basketball, hiking and working on his project cars.
David Haug
Director of Sales
David grew up obsessing over cars with friends and joined the automotive industry in 2015. Before starting with Sotheby's Motorsport in Summer 2023, David worked with retail car dealerships at Cars.com and in leadership roles in the online wholesale vehicle marketplace world with OPENLANE. When he's not searching for cars personally, David enjoys road cycling and collecting electric guitars.
Michael Zimmermann
Sales Specialist
Michael started kart racing at age 6 in his hometown of Mannheim, Germany. After living in Germany for 14 years and moving to the United States, he started at Porsche at age 19. After 12 years with the Porsche brand Michael started with SOMO at the beginning of 2024. He has owned 9 aircooled Porsches and in his free time enjoys SIM Racing, flying airplanes and being at the racetrack.
Marshall Spotleson
Sales/Valuation Specialist
Marshall Spotleson, based in Scottsdale, AZ, is a fourth-generation car dealer with extensive experience in all aspects of the automotive industry. He specializes in collectible cars, focusing on collection management and valuation. Over the past two decades, Marshall has built a reputation for his expertise in assessing the value of rare and unique vehicles. His deep understanding of the market and commitment to excellence make him a trusted professional in the field. Marshall's dedication is reflected in his meticulous approach and comprehensive knowledge, ensuring top-tier service for all his clients.
Chris Peterson
Collector Car Specialist
Chris Peterson is from San Diego, CA, and has been passionate about cars since childhood. At 18, he officially joined the industry with Symbolic Motor Car Company. Over the next 20 years, Chris worked his way up from the parts department to director of sales and marketing, gaining hands-on experience with some of the world’s most amazing cars. A self-proclaimed treasure hunter, Chris loves restoring cars as a hobby and takes pride in keeping these classic beauties on the road. When he's not geeking out over vintage cars or hitting the track, you can find him gardening, cooking, or sailing.
Allison Ferguson
Auction Listing Manager & Post Auction Coordinator
Allison was born and raised in the automotive community, developing a deep appreciation and passion for classic cars. As a lifelong learner with a keen eye for detail, she combined her background in education with her experience in owning an auto restoration business. This unique blend of skills paved the way for her career in operations and customer care within the auto auction industry. Allison thrives on working with collectors, understanding their needs, and helping turn their automotive dreams into reality. She joined SOMO bringing a unique perspective on start-ups and the resilience required to build a successful online marketplace. For Allison, cars are a family affair, from attending car events to planning project cars. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling with family & exploring culinary arts.
Shane Henderson
Director of Operations
Shane began his career as a civil engineer, designing the very roadways and infrastructure on which vehicles rely. Shane’s passion for all-things automotive was sparked by his father and frequent trips as a child to Carlisle, PA car shows. This ultimately led to his transition to the automotive industry in 2021. Prior to SOMO, Shane contributed to the success of Bring A Trailer and held various roles at Motorsport Network, now Dupont Registry Group. Outside of work, Shane is an avid pickleball player and enjoys going on adventures with his wife and dog.
Ben Wiebe
Auction Specialist
Ben brings experience from a background in project management and lifelong enthusiasm for all things mechanical. Restoring a Volkswagen with his father fueled the automotive hobby from a young age. After studying Journalism and Environmental Science at the University of Wyoming, he worked in startup AgTech and later received a degree in Automotive Restoration from McPherson College. Finding his way to SOMO shortly after, Ben still enjoys working on VWs and mountain biking in his spare time.
Jeremy Billow
Auction Specialist
Jeremy started his career with Hearst Autos working in advertising for Car & Driver and Road & Track magazines. He then spent time on various teams at Bring a Trailer before joining SOMO. In addition to his work in the automotive industry, Jeremy owned and operated a business building and delivering custom high-end handcrafted furniture to high-net-worth clients. Jeremy shares his passion for cars with all things motorized and is a sport pilot who enjoys flying with his local EAA chapter.
Kyle Wright
Client Services Coordinator
Kyle began his professional career working with automotive startups such as Tesla and Rivian, and found a passion for the greater automotive industry from his connections in the industry. He purchased a 1997 Mazda Miata M-Edition from a former colleague and has made that his long term restoration project, and has enjoyed helping a close friend maintain and work on his 1996 Suzuki Carry. Outside of wrenching on these vehicles, Kyle enjoys driving on New England mountain roads, and spending weekends rock climbing and bouldering in Western Massachusetts.
